Yoga with Essence in Motion

I believe the "essence of motion" is when we find flow state before thinking about it. When we are in a space of pure joy, pure bliss, breath and body and movement through stillness or motion and no part has to think. Muscles and joints know where to go, breath is in sync and leading the train of flow. Weather that be running, hiking, skiing, biking, yoga, art, gardening, or even washing the dishes after cooking a beautiful meal for your family and friends. The essence of the smell of something enticing your tastebuds, or reminding you of a memory, a color. The essence of the sound of your footsteps, the sound of your breath, the heartbeat in your chest. The essence of the worms deep in the soil working to create the bountiful fruits above. With so much movement around us i encourage everyone to feel, listen, and lean into the essence of all that movement. Lean into the small moments in between the big ones.

We believe in creating yoga that is holistic, well rounded in a movement practice and a mental shift. Yoga for all bodies and all abilities, and the chance to drop into the fully present you.

Essence in Motion Yoga classes are focused around simplistic function and authentic movement. Our classes are built around adaptability, function of the human body, and ease of movement. Letting each student arrive on their mats and move through exactly what they need that day. We incorporate breath work, pranayama, philosophy and more into our classes. All classes are taught to the students that are in the room and tailored to their experience. It’s the perfect chance to settle into yourselves for the day and leave feeling ready for the day fresh new. We hope you join us on your mat!

Elise’s yoga journey began nearly a decade ago, when she went to her first yoga class with her mom, looking for something that felt different—something that challenged her body in new ways while offering space for stillness and exploration. Having always been drawn to movement through outdoor pursuits like hiking, skiing, and mountain biking, she quickly found that yoga offered a unique complement. It was more than just a physical practice—it was a way to connect inward, move with intention, and find balance both on and off the mat.

In 2020, Elise completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training. What began as a personal passion soon evolved into a deeper calling: to share the transformative impact of yoga with others. Since then, she’s been dedicated to teaching and continuing her own learning, weaving together inspiration from a variety of disciplines and lineages including Rocket, Ashtanga, Slow Flow, Yin, and mobility training.

Elise’s teaching style is creative, intuitive, and rooted in presence. She’s passionate about curating classes that are more than sequences—they’re experiences that guide students out of their busy minds and into their breath and bodies. Her flows are thoughtfully designed to offer both structure and freedom: an intentional balance of strength and softness, effort and ease, tradition and innovation.

At the core of Elise’s philosophy is the belief that movement should feel good, make sense, and be adaptable. Her classes emphasize functional movement, mindfulness, and authenticity—creating space for students to listen inward and move through whatever they’re carrying, whether it’s physical tension, mental noise, or emotional layers.

Jacki, who seeks to teach and practice yoga amongst the natural landscapes is a lifelong yogi, who was first exposed through dance during childhood. She fell in love with the depth and philosophy of yoga in college and its ability to incorporate anatomy holistically and intentionally.

After finishing her yoga teacher training in Joshua Tree in 202, Jacki began teaching and believes that yoga holds benefits for all bodies, that through movement and breath, we can create space for openness, awareness, and healing. Over time deepening and attuning the connection between our physical bodies and consciousness.

Jacki's classes are geared towards mountain athletes. Focusing on getting into our bodies, listening to what they are telling us, and priming our minds to confidently and capably pursue our passions. Weather climbing, hunting, hiking skiing, trail running, bird watching or rock hounding. I look forward to meeting you on our mats, and in the great wide open spaces we all love and cherish.
